Walk4Migrants

Despite heavy rains and a thunderstorm warning, over 60 people showed up for the Walk4Migrants inaugration ceremony and symbolic walk. In attendance were not just minorities and migrants, but people from all races, religions and walks of life in Hong Kong. Our distinguished guests and speakers included Ms. Joanna Hotung, Mr. Jeff Levy, Dr. Sharmila Gurung, Mr. Parry Ravindranathan and Mr. Sukha Singh Gill.

Afterwards, we held a symbolic walk from the Sikh Gurdwara to the Islamic Center, then the Vine Church, bearing the Move4Migrants banner. At the Vine Church, we were greeted by Mr. Tom Franz, the CEO of the Vine Community Services Limited, who spoke briefly about his experience working with ethnic minorities and the need for integration in Hong Kong.

For the kids who attended our event, we gave out dozens of amazing prizes. These included workshops geared towards education, such as debate clinics and public speaking seminars, as well as some fun prizes like VIP passes to Ryze Trampoline and a helicopter ride by actor Michael Wong.

Our first event was a great success, and we will continue with a series of programs through the summer and beyond!
